National Assistance League has a network of more than 122 chapters stretching across the country; bound by a strong central cause and vision to empower volunteers to make lasting change in our communities. Last year more than 26,000 members of Assistance League returned over $36 million to their local communities and volunteered a total of over 2.6 million hours; touching the lives of over 1.2 million children, seniors and families. Assistance League members make a difference in so many ways, providing “hands-on”, financial and emotional support to their local communities. Each chapter tailors its programs to meet the specific needs of its community. Assistance League continues to uphold the vision of its founder, Mrs. Hancock Banning, who felt a duty, in her own words, "to act as a friend at any and all times to men, women and children in need of care, guidance and assistance." Assistance League of Arcadia was founded in 1954 and became the 22nd chapter of National Assistance League. We currently have over 120 active members of diverse backgrounds, ages, and occupations. Assistance League of Arcadia is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, non-sectarian organization that donates over 26,000 hours and $135,000 annually to the chapter’s community service programs. We presently serve the communities of Alhambra, Arcadia, Duarte, Monrovia, Rosemead, San Gabriel, and Temple City. |
